Hello!

I'm sorry that I'm posting this so late! Tonight we're going to go to my (Sarah's) apartment at 8:00 to embroider. My sewing machine is also an embroidery machine and can do little pictures, letters, words, etc.

Since I'm still learning, tonight let's just do really simple things like names, initials, borders, or one color pictures. You can sew them on a pillowcase, or on fabric that you want to make something out of later, or whatever you want. The fabric can't be super thick, and the back of the embroidery will be raw, so you'll want to do it on something not yet made, or something like a pillowcase where you don't see the inside.

What to bring:

  • Thread...whatever color you want. The embroidery will hold better if you use "embroidery" thread, but it's totally fine with regular too!
  • Fabric...Like I said, you won't want the back of the embroidery to show, so make sure you bring something that you haven't put together yet (ie: One side of a blanket you're making) or something where the inside layer won't show (pillowcase, skirt, etc.). Also, the fabric has to be large enough to put into the embroidery frame which is about 12 inches x 6 inches, so even if you're going to cut the fabric into a smaller piece after we embroider, you'll want to bring the larger piece just to embroider it.

Let me know if you have any questions! Oh, and feel free to bring a few different things because it doesn't take long!
